Green Hands USA: America Volunteers

Dr. Sylvia Earle, critically acclaimed oceanographer and National Geographic explorer-in-residence, will be the keynote speaker at the "Our Oceans" Green Drinks NYC Holiday Party on December 8, at the Prince George Ballroom on 27th Street.

The event will also feature live entertainment, special guests and celebrity appearances, a silent auction and an opportunity to take action in support of nonprofit beneficiary Citizens Campaign for the Environment (CCE).

Named a ?hero for the planet? by Time magazine, Dr. Earle in her keynote address will illuminate the critical issues that face our oceans and share her experiences as a marine biologist who has logged over 7,000 hours underwater and walked freely on the ocean floor 1,250 feet beneath the water?s surface.

A portion of the proceeds for the event, which is open to the public, will go toward supporting CCE. Other action stations include Hudson Riverkeeper and Google Earth?s Explore the Ocean layer.
