Folks at the Placer Nature Center say, "It's a wild ride when Dr. Paul Doherty takes the stage." And this visit, which has been brought back by popular demand, will be nothing short of the same thrill!
On February 27, 2009, Doherty will make his way to Auburn, California from San Francisco's AMAZING exploratorium, where he runs the Teacher Institute. Doherty's presentation is called "Lights in the Sky -- Rainbow, Halos and UFO's!" He will explore, only in the most hands-on and interactive of ways, the dynamics of... well... rainbows, halos, UFOs, and I'm sure he has a few other treats in store.
Dr. Doherty explains "complex aspects of the physical world in a unique, delightfully playful and accessible style," which means, YEP, this is an all ages event, so bring everybody!
You can read Dr. Paul Doherty's bio on the Nature Center's website, which is also where you can directions, all of the deets, etc. And have a blast!
If you live in the area, the Nature Center will also be holding a small event for family day, this Saturday, Feb. 8th, called "Greening Your Life -- Make A Difference." Cheri Charles, Executive Director of Greenlife Eco Consultants, will provide information on topics from recycling to cleaning with non-toxic cleaners. Green your life from the inside, out!
